Details:

Saturday 13th June

10.00 – 16.00 (tbc)

Red Hall, Broadstairs

Event on Facebook

We have 5 major arms companies in East Kent. They’re very busy making high tech weapons parts to send around the globe. Their customers include the most repressive states and worst warmongers.

In September, these companies are going to the big international arms fair in London (DSEI) to parade their parts and hawk their wares. We’re planning to follow them there to STOP THE ARMS FAIR.

So in June, we’re getting ready. We’re organising a one-day workshop on campaigning strategies in Broadstairs on the 13th June. The workshop will include a primer on our local arms companies and on DSEI, plus a lot of planning, practising and talking tactics. We’re lucky to have seasoned campaigner and peace activist Andrew Dey joining us (from WRI). He’ll talk about past DSEI campaigns and take us through some useful skills and strategies. We’ll be trying out a few to use in local actions.

All are welcome to join. We’ll be in Broadstairs – where Elbit Systems, Israel’s mighty drone producer, has a factory.

Please email caatekent [at] riseup.net if you’re interested in attending. We’ll need an idea of likely numbers.
